History

The cornerstone of beramí was laid in 1990 by means of a pilot project: For the first time, competences and resources of migrant women were acknowledged, and migrant women were taken into focus as potential participants for educational offers. By this, qualified migrant women could escape the label of “low or unqualified workers”. The millennium brought the organisational shape and name of today: beramí berufliche Integration e.V.; a competence centre for the qualification and professional education or retraining of migrant women. Today, migrant counselling and professional education in Frankfurt am Main cannot be imagined without beramí – and it is well known on a regional as well as on state level for its innovative projects and professionalism.
